Training and Nutrition Talks at Blackburn College

Blackburn College is a hive of activity in our local community. But at the Billy Project, we know that being a student can be very tough. In 2021 alone, UCAS reported that mental health declarations from students increased by 450%. This means that we have a lot of work to do to help our young people improve their overall health and wellbeing, but we are certainly up to the challenge.

Kirsty and I spent the day at Blackburn College talking to the students about the Billy Project and the work that we do with the community. We accepted referrals from students who admitted that they were facing mental health challenges of their own and encouraged them to talk about it. We also shared information about other local services, good nutrition and ways to stay on top of our physical health.

The Billy Project works with people who have lots of vulnerabilities and offer a safe place for people to exercise and talk about their problems. We offer group sessions and one to one training for those who prefer to exercise alone. We also work closely with other local services so we can signpost and refer to anyone who may be able to help. If you want to speak to someone about our services, complete a self referral from or get in touch using the contact form and we will give you a call.
